WE LOVE ART

For our January 2024 event we commissioned the fabulous Jake Simon | IYDA (he/him). Jake’s artwork will be projected on the night and of course forms the foundation of our promotional material. As always Jake was amazing to work with and created stunning work we are so proud of. Thanks mate!

JAKE SIMON

Hi, I'm Jake Simon, proud Worimi-Biripi, Yorta Yorta man, living on Gadigal country.

I add colour and vitality to a stark world of black and white. My work fuses traditional form with contemporary methodology to transform cultural storytelling into modern conceptual messaging through a digital medium. I have worked with many companies and community groups interpreting their internal values

into art pieces and story telling to form their reconciliation action plan documents including Sydney Mardi Gras.

Recently I have collaborated with such brands as Calvin Klien for the 2023 Pride capsule infusing my art into fashion. More collaborations with a local Blak owned business Gali Swimwear where I designed Gali’s Pride swimwear called “gathering pippies”.

For Sydney World Pride 2023 I worked with 3 queer community groups that participated in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade, wearing my designs with pride. My art journey has come a long way, from small canvas paintings for friends and family to large scale projects. I have always been

surrounded by creatives in all forms growing up. It's not until the past 3 years that I made the decision to work 100% for myself as a full time artist.
